Suchurum waterfall - Karlovo - video
The 15-meter-high Suchurum Waterfall is located at the foot of the Stara Planina mountain range, 1 km north of the town of Karlovo in Bulgaria. It is situated below the Karlovo hydroelectric power plant, on the waters of the Stara Reka stream. This waterfall is one of the favorite hiking spots for the residents of Karlovo and the surrounding area.
We arrived at the site after a heavy rain, having enjoyed local delicacies at a nearby café. We found the Stara Reka stream raging, with its muddy water cascading down as a waterfall. On a clear day, the water is likely to be clearer, the grass greener, and the surroundings quieter.
Along the stream, there are iron wires, steps, and footholds reinforced into the rock face. We climbed a bit in this area for the sake of taking a few photos and shooting this short video.
