Predjama Castle built onto a cave, is situated on a cliff, in the village of Predjama, Slovenia. The castle has a rich history dating back to the 13th century. It is known for its unique location and impressive architecture.
The castle was home to Erazem Lueger, a renowned knight and robber baron. Erazem captured international attention due to his resistance against the Habsburgs. The castle was later seized, and destroyed during an assault. It was rebuilt in the 16th century, and has been preserved ever since.
Today, Predjama Castle attracts visitors from all over the world, showcasing its historical significance, and offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape.

The Siega Klettersteig, categorized as a C/D level of difficulty, is perhaps the least interesting of the three via ferratas in the Silberkarklamm gorge. This doesn't mean that it's not good, just that the other two are even better. :-)

Along a steep incline, a concrete staircase leads up to the castle, which is built atop a mountain. It is said that one must climb 1,480 steps, though we didn't count. :-)

We met geotrekking treasure hunters from Gheorgheni, Miercurea Ciuc and Targu Mures in Rastolita. We entered the Calimani Mountains with an off-road vehicle, along the Rastolita and Tihu streams. As it turned out, the well-worn forest road can also be traveled by car for a good distance.
