Rudariei watermills - Eftimie Murgu 40.21 km away
I have visited the twenty-two wooden water mills with horizontal wheels, located in the valley of the Rudaria stream, mostly in the rain and under an umbrella. Some of them are still in use today. In 1874, there were still fifty such water mills operating in the village.
Corcoaia Gorges - Gorj county 52.9 km away
The Corcoaia Gorge is one of the most beautiful tourist attractions in the Cerna Valley. It can be reached by car, 43 km away from Baile Herculane, of which about 17 km is on a dusty gravel road. The spectacular part of the gorge is relatively short, about 300 m.
Billy-goat lake, Closed Gates - Retezat Mountains 71.73 km away
The most unique ridge trail of the Retezat Mountains is the Closed Gates.
Sheepdogs - Govora sheepfold - Retezat mountains 76.87 km away
On the second day of my weekend Retezat hike, I visited a sheepfold on the Lancita Ridge. To my great disappointment, they didn't make cheese or curd here. The owners sell the more special types of sheep and rams in the autumn.
Crivadia Gorges 95.64 km away
The Crivadia Gorge is located next to the village of Crivadia, which belongs to Banita. Access is difficult, and the hike is made through the streambed, with water up to the waist at its narrowest point.

Rieseneishöhle Dachstein Salzkammergut, Austria 686.93 km away
The second cave open to the public, of Schönbergalm above Obertraun am Hallstättersee, is the Ice Cave (Rieseneishöhle). For me, it was more spectacular than the Mammoth Cave.
Vadu Crisului cave 196.47 km away
The Vadu Crisului Cave, with a total length of over 1000 meters, is located in the picturesque gorge of Crisul Repede creek. It consists of a gently meandering, long passage that features an active, stream level next to an upper, fossil level in its first section.
Poienii Rock, north-eastern lookout point Bicaz Gorges 341.66 km away
From the viewpoint at the top of the northeastern wall of Poienii Rock in the Bicaz Gorges, we can look down 300 meters to the mouth of the Bicajel stream. The Bridge of the Hungarians is hidden among pine trees. The road winds through Hell's Mouth, between Bardos Mountain and Surducul Stone.
Saeva Dupka cave Brestnitsa 297.1 km away
The Saeva Dupka Cave is located 2 km south of the village of Brestnitsa. In its five chambers and 400 meters of passageways, you can see the most beautiful cave formations in Bulgaria. It is developed and illuminated for tourists.
Skaklya waterfall Vratsa 257.5 km away
The largest seasonal waterfall in Bulgaria plunges down from a height of 141 meters. It is located in the Vratsa Mountain National Park, just one and a half kilometers away from the city of Vratsa. The waterfall can be accessed via a well-marked trail and is most stunning after snowmelt or rainfall. Climbing to the top of the waterfall offers a breathtaking view of the city.
Echernwand Klettersteig Hallstatt, Austria 693.15 km away
I climbed the via ferrata on the Echernwand rock wall at dusk. This route is located above one of Austria's most beautiful lakes, and above Hallstatt. The iron climbing route was quite challenging at times, with the most exciting section being the Roll-dachl, an exposed rock formation, shaped like a nose.
Poenari citadel Arges valley 204.1 km away
The Poenari citadel is located on the southern slope of the Fagaras Mountains, on the western side of the Transfagaras road, in the Arges Valley, about 4 km from the Vidraru Lake dam. Along a steep incline, a concrete staircase leads up to the castle, which is built atop a mountain. It is said that one must climb 1,480 steps, though we didn't count. :-)

The most dangerous Eastern European iron path, and also one of the most beautiful via ferrata routes in Romania, is in the Rasnoavei Gorges, Postavaru Mountains.
Fairy Cliff iron path Vadu Crisului 197.45 km away
In Vadu Crisului, in the Padurea Craiului Mountains, on the right bank of the Crisul Repede, you can find the newest, in chronological order the fifth Transylvanian, new type of via ferrata route. I will not count here the traditional iron paths, the high-mountain hiking trails, partly secured with iron cables, or the rock canyons with iron ladders and footbridges.
Iron path Harghita-Madaras 305.86 km away
Amateur filming in Harghita-Madaras, holding the camera by hand in the car, and helmet-mounted on the via ferrata. I climbed an iron path for the first time in my life on the Nyerges cliffs (Stancile Seii), I didn't have the right equipment yet. That's where I fell in love with climbing.
Rosina Klettersteig Silberkarklamm, Ramsau am Dachstein 683.79 km away
The Rosina Klettersteig is the most difficult via ferrata in the Silberkar gorge, has a D difficulty rating, and it is a vertical masterpiece. After a short suspension bridge above the stream, it leads up the rock wall next to the gorge waterfall, all the way vertically.
Walking to the top of Sumuleul Mare Sumuleu Ciuc 321.52 km away
This was my first attempt at shooting a video.
Handeckfallbrücke, Gelmerbahn, Gelmersee Schweiz 1070.26 km away
Although the path from the Gelmerbahn parking bypasses the Handeckfall waterfall, it is worth descending a few steps from the valley station of the funicular, to reach Handeckfallbrücke. A 70-meter long suspension bridge that hangs 70 meters above the gorge, offering a spectacular view of the waterfall.
Hili cove iron path Turda Gorges 195.92 km away
While the first time I climbed this via ferrata in the morning, now I climbed it in the light of the setting sun. The red-dressed rocks created a special atmosphere, and I could admire the sunset from the top of the climbing route. Although I prefer the sunrise more, because it lasts longer. :-)
