The Bear's Jump iron path - Baia de FierThe Bear's Jump (in Romanian, Saritoarea Ursului) is a fantasy-named via ferrata that opened in May 2018 near Baia de Fier, alongside the Middle Spiral (in Romanian, Spirala Medie). Both routes begin from the G zone of the rock face that conceals the Muierilor Cave.
Via Ferrata Centenario C.A.O - Monte Grona - ItaliaIn the magnificent rocky world of Monte Grona, the Centenario via ferrata leads upwards, which I had the opportunity to climb accompanied by lizards.Although it was cloudy and gloomy, I had a great view of Lake Lugano and Lake Como along the way.
Spirala Medie iron path - Baia de FierIn May 2018, two new via ferrata routes were inaugurated in Baia de Fier. Both start from section G of the rock face hiding the Muierilor Cave, and their initial stages are shared.
Wild Ferenc iron path - Suhardul MicWhile I climbed the new iron path mostly in the dark for the first time, this time I managed to explore it during the day. But I still missed the sunset by a few minutes.
Iron path in winter - Harghita MadarasThis is already the sixth time I've climbed the via ferrata route set up on the rocky cliffs of Seii Peak near Harghita Madaras. Although the forecast suggests that the weather should be nice, I am greeted by a sky covered in clouds.
Via ferrata Adventure Climb Varmost - ItaliaI participated in a joint, Szekler-Italian 'military exercise' on the Adventure Climb Varmost via ferrata. :-) The iron climbing route is located in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region, in the Carnic Alps, and it leads up to the summit of Clap Varmost above Forni di Sopra.
Loreley and Pink Panther iron path - Baia de FierThe Loreley via ferrata (graded B/C, with an elevation difference of approximately 100 m and a length of about 100 m) is located on the rock wall on the opposite side of the road. A branch from its upper section leads to the Pink Panther (Pantera Roz, graded A/B/C, approximately 200 meters long, with an elevation difference of about 50 meters).
Rosina Klettersteig - Silberkarklamm, Ramsau am DachsteinThe Rosina Klettersteig is the most difficult via ferrata in the Silberkar gorge, has a D difficulty rating, and it is a vertical masterpiece. After a short suspension bridge above the stream, it leads up the rock wall next to the gorge waterfall, all the way vertically.
Fairy Cliff iron path - Vadu CrisuluiIn Vadu Crisului, in the Padurea Craiului Mountains, on the right bank of the Crisul Repede, you can find the newest, in chronological order the fifth Transylvanian, new type of via ferrata route. I will not count here the traditional iron paths, the high-mountain hiking trails, partly secured with iron cables, or the rock canyons with iron ladders and footbridges.
